Hubert and Jeannie Rowell and Carolyn and I made it into our Hotel in Patterson about 3pm. My GMC averaged 19.6 mpg. That new mod REALLY made a difference.

After we checked in, I took a cart into the parking lot to put our luggage on. About the time I cleared the door of the Motel, I heard the BANG that we all recognize and looked toward the highway about 100 yards away to see the bottom of a white Ford pickup upside down and about 10' in the air. About 4 rolls later it came to rest on all 4 wheels. I grabbed my phone to call 911 but realized I didn't know where I was so I ran inside and yelled at the desk clerk to call 911.

When I got back outside there were people running to the truck and congregating around the driver who proceeded to get out of the truck and lay on the ground. Eventually the police and emergency folks arrived and they put him in an ambulance. We heard that he had failed the sobriety test. No other vehicles were involved.

Exciting end to a long drive.

About 25-30 coaches at the fairgrounds and the facility looks great. Should be a great rally!

Kerry,

We’re a week away from April Fools Day… Tell us about the 19.6 mpg. Were you on a flatbed for half the trip? Are you only paying for half the fuel? Did you start in Denver and coast downhill most of the way? Is that 19.6 mpg just for the Onan?

Larry

I believe he drove his GMC pick up -- his recent thread was about a bad valve #7 ...
