My oven has a pilot light that needs lighting when the propane is turned on.
The burners then light from the central one. I know the furnace (mine is under the sink)
Has a little slide-by hatch to move and light the pilot in there. Once lit, it's good to go.
And yes, I DO smell the propane if one of 'em blows out somehow. I thinks that's a GOOD thing.
