Good start Bill.
Is the Escape either a standard transmission or a 4 wheel drive..or both?

Also check the owners manual. There shoul be a section on towing, specifically towing behind an RV. You will need lights, brakes, tow bar, and base plate. Search Blue Ox tow bar for some good information.

Welcome, found this from Google

And this

As for towing, we have a 4x4 Tracker and can't really tell it is there.

Someone with a recent list of towables from GMCMI will chime in here, but I
suspect you will only be able to tow with a dolly and not 4 wheels down.

From the FMCA Magazine I’ve downloaded the PDF of 2010 towables. It looks like you can tow 4-down - but don’t take my word for it. I sent the PDF to you off list.

What kind of hitch is on your GMC? Anything other than this one might or might not be up to the task.
