Hi Ken,

The fan clutch that was in the coach when the new engine went in was a Hayden 2797. I changed that out for an ACDelco which was called a 2053 (I think it really is a 15-4644 but it is not marked on the unit itself), then changed that out for an AutoZone boxed version of a USA made Hayden 2705. All lock up around 2000 RPMs in normal driving. I still have another untested AuotZone boxed version of a Hayden 2747 which I could try. Of all the fan clutches out there is there one you think would work best with the plastic fan?

I will try changing the plastic fan for the metal stock one and see if that makes any difference. Thanks for your comments.

My first reaction is you have either a Hayden clutch or a bad clutch. Hayden clutches come on at a lower temperature.

The heater coolant flow direction is not really important.

If this only started after installing the plastic fan you could switch back to the steel one and see if anything changes. This is the first I have
heard of anyone having a problem using the plastic fan so I'm hesitant to blame your symptoms on it.
