Hello all,

Is the only difference between R46SZ and R46SX the gap? When I did a Google search, it looks like it is "special gap" vs "HEI gap"

http://www.78ta.com/HTAF/index.php?topic=6782.0

I'm asking all this because Rockauto has the R46SX for $0.81 and if it is just a matter of setting the gap, I do that anyway before I install them.

thanks everybody

Todd

According to the way they code Delco plugs:
(note: not every manufacturer uses the same method)

R = Resistor
4 = 14 mm Thread
6 = Heat Range (higher the number, the "hotter" the plug)
S = Extended Tip
Z = Special Gap (normally the Z means "wide gap")

So that 6 is where you'll find the heat range after the 4.

A rapidfire delco #7 covers your applications requiring a 43 through 46 heat range plug according to Delco.

According to plug information I have the R46SZ replaced the R46SX. The SX's were gapped for .080 and the SZ was gapped at .060. Only difference. Just bend your tab on an SX and make it work if you don't want the huge gap.
