On that 78 Royale 11mpg also had 72 Buick heads with oversize valves and new timing gear and chain, electric fuel pumps. It was a long time ago and my memory fading. I drove it for mileage but did my 65 on the open road.

Jon,
"...'72 Buick heads...". Does that mean heads from one of the Olds engines
used in other GM vehicles during their engine swapping fiasco? Otherwise,
that modification begs more information.
