Espen helped me with getting airlineconnectors 1/8 npt. I fixed the 2 leakes I new I had in the new part of the installation only to find 1 more leak
It is on the hightadjusment. Partbook page 138 part 1 to 3 is leaking
I figured I could exchange part 1 with one of the new connectors. But it seems the thread is different, though both are 1/8 ?

Darn I was looking forward to having it fixed today

Appie,

The fittings 1 & 3 may be the same size as 1/8 NPT (tapered) but they are straight threads. Number 1 uses a gasket to seal to the
attaching fitting and Number 3 uses an O-ring.

I assume Espen got you some flareless fittings that are 1/4" (for the nylon tubing) to 1/8" pipe.

It may be possible remove fittings Number 1 and Number 3 and screw the 1/8 NPT fittings into the fittings they were screwed into but
you may have to tap them with a 1/8" NPT tap. I think that's what I did back in 2008 to the height control valves on Double Trouble.

I tried to replace part 1 and 3 with the 1/8 espen got for me. Recutting is not the easiest option here. Applied sells substituts for these connections. Guess they would fit straight in ?

To give the corrct answer I would have to start my old laptop. That one is slow
It is the partsbook that is on my gmcmi stick
Anyway it is about the connectors on the hightadjuster on the elctrolevel 1.
Rob stated they are 1/8 straight as opposed to tapered. (Npt versus nptf ?). i think your are different
I gues I call applied tomorrow and ask them to send some in a envelop as a plain letter, that way it schould be here within a week.

Espen,

There are a number of different .pdf versions of Parts Book 78Z "out there." The one Appie has does not have the actual page numbers
as they appear in the book. The page number he is referring to is what Adobe Reader shows it to be. Had me confused for a minute,
however, I have two electronic copies of the parts manuals the details on the files is below:

Name Size Type Date Modified

GMC MH Parts Man.pdf 577,032KB Adobe Acrobat Document 5/30/2006 9:33 AM

GMCMH-Parts.pdf 39,765KB Adobe Acrobat Document 9/22/2011 2:12 AM

The second one can be downloaded from bdub's website as a zip file:

http://www.bdub.net/manuals/parts/GMCMH-Parts.zip

It has the actual page number as they appear in the hard copy book.

It has a neat feature too - you can highlight one line then right click and copy the highlighted text then paste it like I did
below:

5549340 ADAPTER-air line
5540299 ADAPTER-gasket
5353314 VALVE PKG.-exhaust.

The copy isn't perfect and you have to edit it afterwards but it easier than typing it all in.

The 577,032KB version you can't copy text, after you highlight what you want and right click you get "Copy Image" and you can't
paste it into an email to the GMCnet.

Appie,

To the best of my knowledge there is no such thing as NPTF there is only NPT and 1/8 NPT has 27 threads per inch.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_pipe_thread

As far as Espen having different valves than you Parts Book 78Z notes that p/n 4949722 was used before 1975 and p/n 4992987 was used
after 1975, however, note that the attaching parts did not change.

I have a hard copy of 78Z and here's what I believe you are talking about:

Parts Book 78Z / Section 14 - Air Suspension / Page 14-14 / Figure 14.003 Valve - Rear Suspension Height Control / Key 1 - Adapter &
Key 3 - Valve PKG

Where is the actual leak?

A) Between Key 1 and Key 16 / Key 1 and Key 19 / Key 3 and where it screws into the valve body?

B) Or are where the tubing connects to the fittings?

Rob M.

Yes Rob quite confusing with all those different threads. I understand that the thread used is streight becourse the seal is made by the rubber rings and not by the thread itselv
Air comes out along the airtube where it leaves the connector
I expect this to do the job: http://www.appliedgmc.com/prod.itml/icOid/1288
