We have had our coach for over 24 years. When we first purchased it it was
lacking one of the height control valves. Cinnabar was the only parts
people I knew about. So I order the valve and a set of manuals. Some years
later I ordered brake rotors. Always happy with their customer service.
This month I needed a boot for the intermediate steering shaft. I looked
at can-o-tomatoes (applied) catalog, they only listed a kit of two boots. I
ordered a boot from Cinnabar. I requested it be shipped priority mail,
because I had the shaft out and we were leaving six days later and I needed
to install it before we left.
Somehow there was a mixup and the boot arrived after we left and I had
made other arrangements. When I contacted Cinnabar they more than fair. I
explained I didn't need the part. The said rather than put more money into
shipping it back, I should keep the boot and they would credit my card,
shift they did.

Steve,

I have had dealings with Cinnabar on a number of occasions and have been satisfied the parts they have supplied and the service
provided.

I am NOT going to discuss personalities!

I have had dealings with Cinnabar on occasion. I would not fault their service. I have been there largely because they are close If I need it NOW. (Yes, JimK can ship fast, but then you are the mercy of the carrier.) Some parts have proven difficult to source from local carparts places.

My big complaint and I even spoke to Wes about it was their lack of direct support for our community. I think that they could do a little more than nothing, but apparently Wes had some political difficulties at one time and has never investigated the change in management that has happened since.

Matt,

As mentioned earlier I have been happy with the service provided by Cinnabar through Steve Rourke (SP?), however, the one time I
spoke with Wes he did not let me finish my question and went off in a direction that was wrong. I let him rabbit on and when he was
finished I thanked him and noted that unfortunately what he had related was not what I wanted to know. He said "Oh?" and then I
finished my question and he answered it.

Please define what you mean what you mean by; "lack of direct support for our community?"

I knew really nothing about GMC's when we got ours. I just knew that I wanted one since I first saw one. Wanted a part. Called Cinnabar. The parts man was nice to talk too. Got me what I wanted. It was pricey. A few weeks later. After I found out what the final drive ratio was. I called to see if they had a 3.70, or 4,10 ratio. The parts man said that I needed to talk to Wes. He gave me Wes's number. I then told Wes what I needed. I then was told by Wes that I was stupid. And told that I didn't know my ass from a hole in the ground about engines. GM put the 3.07 final drive in because that was what was the BEST for the GMC. That was my last contact. Thank God that Jim K was the next parts person I talked too. He, and Nick are great people to get parts, and info from. And yes there are others. I think the GMC committee is VARY lucky to have so many great suppliers to keep our GMC's on the road. Because with out them. We would see far fewer GMC's, and the gathering of some v
ary friendly people. Bob Dunahugh Member GMCMI. Source North America Please

Bob,

Guess Wes changed his mind as they sell a 3.42 to 1 final drive now!

I don't think they changed their mind because they were one of the first companies to sell a higher numeric ratio many years ago. Long before the 3.55 or 3.70 were available.

Rob,

Very simply, he provides nothing of value to the community, not even information. The only way I found out that Cinnabar had contracted a manufacturer for OE airsprings was that it was mentioned here.
The only reason I found out about Cinnabar was that the PO had the publications and receipts for work done there.

According to all information that I know, he does provide value to the
community by providing parts, by providing service. As someone else
noted: They are a business.

That's not providing no value, but bad marketing by the company. Maybe
they thing everybody already knows about them, that should know about
them ;)

Matt,

Thanks.

As Peer noted Wes is not into marketing I guess he feels that his website takes care of that.

I'm sorry but I'm going to disagree that he provides nothing of value to the community; he has a lot of parts you can't buy from
anyone else. For example the little plastic springs that sit on top of the window screens to keep them in, I paid $2.00 a piece for
them. Also they have used parts for sale at reasonable prices. I purchased a pair of used swivel seat bases for Double Trouble from
him for $153.70 which included $73.70 for shipping. That means the base itself was $40.00 each. When they arrived I could not
believe how well they were packed. The corner edges had rubber tubing taped to them so they would not pierce the boxes. The bases
were wrapped with cardboard and the boxes were cut down so the seat bases fit in them tightly. After unpacking them they worked
perfectly!

As you noted below he contracted to have the OEM air bags made and sells them for $400 each. Yes I am fully aware that there are
cheaper alternatives out there and they work just fine. I'll stick with the OEM bags as they were designed by the suspension
engineers at GMC.

I am a bit confused by these two statements: "he provides nothing of value to the community, not even information" and "the PO had
the publications" as they seem to be contradictory.
