Okay, now that you have shown it to me, I fully agree that it's beyond cheesy! I'd say out-and-out crappy!
Thanks Mac. It is good to know I am not the only one that sees that.

I was afraid maybe it had some sentimental value because one of your kids made it when he was in preschool. Laughing

I took a minute or two and cut and resized part of the picture from here:

http://www.bdub.net/publications/1975%20Palm%20Beach/1975_Palm_Beach.htm

It is on the photo site

http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/data/1/header.jpg

I can make the background the same color as the forum header banner if that is preferable.

I like it -- didn't start the thread to complain about the icon; it's just that I cannot get sufficient resolution to see that front corner and I was afraid someone was stuck under the coach. I like the cartoonish appeal and find the flat tire apropos.
Simply replacing it with a shrunken photo profile would be a shame.

Oh -- maybe only forum users should get to vote -- why should we deal with "emailers" Smile

I've been avoiding this "topic" I have better things to do...

But I say leave the icon. It's fun, if anyone doesn't think were serious because of an little graphic I don't think we need them.

After all, this site is all about the repair of these coaches. It's fitting that the mascot needs work.

Even if you agree that the icon I provided is "awesome", it looks like I am being shouted down on this one. Even though it is a trivial thing, I expressed an opinion and offered a solution. It doesn't affect the content of the forum, only the presentation. Like good cooking being served on a paper plate vs fine china. It tastes just as good. Drive on.

I was going to vote in an attempt to sway the decision but decided to sent
it to committee for a more accurate and immediate decision. I was assured I
could have an answer within 90 days providing no new issues turn up.

Since Dennis brought up personal safety, I'm afraid the parameters of the
committee may have enlarged leading to a further delay in casting my vote.

If it's rushed I still feel confident I can have an answer by years end !

As a mail list user, I have no dog in this fight. I commented only because I think the "flat-tire GMC" would seem to make the forum site appear to be amateurish and possibly non serious! The iPod generation seemingly values appearance over all else and if "we" are trying to attract attention and adherents, we must remember that "there is only one chance to make a first impression."

A,

I have read ALL the responses and would you please be so kind as to copy and paste the ones that "shouted you down" in a response to
this email. Traditionally in emails one uses CAPITAL letters to SHOUT. I found none in any of the responses.

From what I read people disagreed with you (voted for keeping the icon) and "expressed an opinion" that disagreed with you.

So evidently if one expresses an opinion that you do not agree with you're being shouted down?

I am sure it was in jest, but

http://gmc.mybirdfeeder.net/GMCforum/index.php?t=msg&goto=270490&rid=2083&srch=sentimental+preschool#msg_270490

I was just exaggerating about being shouted down. I was surprised that there was disagreement that the presentation could be spruced up to increase curb appeal and credibility to those that might stumble onto the "front door". Not my call, just a suggestion based on good intentions and knowledge of internet and human nature.

Like Eugene, I took no offense to any posts here. I am disappointed that something so trivial but simple to remedy got so much push back, even when I spoon fed the solution. I am young enough that I will get over it. Especially if this is the biggest argument I have today/this week.

Keep me honest Rob.

Sorry about the caps. I was just having a little fun with the subject. To me it is funny that a little picture that has been there for years is all of a sudden a big deal.

Take no offense. It is all in fun.

I really could not care if you change it or not. I just think it is kind of cute the way it is.

So, I'll vote a second time.
