Sir, the 403 is a small block. That's why the right exhaust manifold is different to clear the oil cooler adapter. The intake is 2" narrower that the 455. The 403 is also shorter than the 455 so you can run a std small block Olds intake in the GMC instead of the sunk lower Toronado style intake on the 455.
BobDunahugh wrote on Mon, 26 January 2015 16:16Rob. I have a 78, 403. I think the 403, and 455 intakes are different in some way. Someone out there can clue me in on the differences. Bob Dunahugh.

Bob, my brain has quit working, sorry. I knew you were going to FI and I know you have a 403 small block and any small block intake will fit, from 75 1/2 till 79 some Eldos had Olds 350s with port injection with a 2v air intake. Yes a factory (some were aluminum) intake to fit the 403 with 8 injectors, one in each runner. More info here.

Scroll down to port fuel injection.
The stock set up is not sequencel but with your abilities.... ..??

Did you know that Caterpillar, Cummins and other engine manufactures sent
out a bulletin that stated they will not honor warranty if the engine is
using the K & N air filter.
The reason is that it works on a very old and inefficient technology.
Does not mater how much oil you coat it, the media is way too open.
Too much particulates get through and those are dirt and it wears the
engine parts.
We used them when we drag raced and dirt trail as it is capable of
accepting a large load of dirt as the dirt does get drawn in past the media
and go into the engine where most people never see.
