As I posted earlier we made the decision to preemptively replace the engine in the Clasco late last year. We drove to Jim Hupy's in Salem, OR, earlier this week to pick it up. Helped with a few last minute details and yesterday did the successful run-in. We loaded the coach this morning and left for the initial 500 mile break-in run. So far it looks and sounds like another great S&J engine. Oil pressure is 40 psi hot idle and 55-60 hot cruise. Water temp staying right at thermostat temp. The new alum radiator, alum high flow water pump from JimK, and plastic fan are really doing their job on this new, tight engine. Everything is neat, tidy and properly painted thanks to JimH's attention to detail. No leaks of any kind so far. Once we do the 500 miles in the flat around No. Oregon, we will change the oil and filter, check everything again, then baby it home the 250 miles to So. OR where it is anything but flat. More as we learn more.
