I have a set of bumpers off the Royale going into covered shed storage that still have decent chrome; some minor rust pocks along the bottom edge and that's about it. I plan on wiping them down with petroleum jelly then wrapping them in saran as a dustcover. My concern is wrapping them in high humidity climates --maybe some sort of vinyl mesh like bird-netting before the saran to provide air circulation?

I would not want to put a non-breathable wrap on them RC. I'd spray them with lithum grease or wipe them down with other grease and leave them be. Cover with cardboard if you want to keep dust and debris off them.

Hi
You could try Boeshield T9, developed by Boeing for corrosion protection inside some of their products.

RC,
Here's an email I sent in back last October.
G'day,
As you all know Houston is a REALLY humid place, EVERYTHING rusts INSTANTLY. I stumbled upon this product which prevents that:
http://www.zep.com/ZepSearch/default1.aspx?search=Protective+Coatings&num=20&match=Exact&country=U
It can be purchased from:
http://www.shannonhardware.com/default.aspx?page=item+detail&itemcode=ZEP+868101
I believe it is spray Cosmoline.
When I disassembled the fire damaged Paterson 455 I got from Canada I sprayed all the parts that could be bagged up with WD-40
before bagging them and sprayed the crankshaft journals, camshaft lobes and bearing surfaces, cylinder walls, and any other surfaces
that would rust.
That was a couple of years ago and so far so good.

Thanks. Ordered T-9 and cosmoline. Probably going cosmoline on the bumpers but that T9 looks handy around the garage and boats.
