Does anyone have a idea of how the straight plastic strips were installed on the OEM windows? They come off fairly easily with sliding either up or down. However, re-installing seems to be a problem.
Were they "tapped" on with a rubber mallet or fist?
Can they be heated to provide a little flexibility? if so, how?
Dealing with one of the early windows.

Tapping them with a rubber mallet or fist sometimes works -- but they can be brittle and often crack.
I have somewhat better luck sliding them back on.

Tom,
Try taking a GMC tool and rounding the leading edges of the aluminum brackets that the plastic strips slide on that way they won't
dig into the plastic when you put the strips back on.
Worked for me!
You could also get some spray silicone to lube the brackets and plastic, I would not use a petroleum based product.
