I have been told changing the fan belt with this fan requires some clipping of the blades to get the belt over it. Doesn't sound right but thought I would ask. It's been almost 20 years since I changed the belt on my 78 Royale and that was a 403 not a 455 in this coach. It wasn't easy but did not require me to remove anything else.

I usually just "weave" the belt one blade at a time going on or coming off. It's that tight?

G'day,

On my 1975 Avion if the old belt is still in one piece I just cut it off.

I too have installed a new belt(s) by threading them between the fan and the ring one blade at a time.

I can't get a belt past my fan anyway, so I unbolt the clutch and change belts and put it back when I am done.

I did not have to clip the blades and that would effect the balance. Just weave the belt over the blades. Btw, after 800 miles I can say without question this fan is DEFINITELY quieter.

I have 2200 miles on the new Bewersi Fan setup. If you cut or clip any of the blades you will upset the balance of the rotating assembly and can cause all sorts of issues with the fan clutch and the water pump. The assembly comes balanced when you get it. I had no issues with the belts or fan clutch when I installed it before the trip. I use a 2747 fan clutch and I almost cannot hear the fan run verses the old metal fan assembly.

You are correct as to the potential negative affects of loosing the balance of these fans. Glad to hear that you are enjoying the reduced noise level.

Is there a link to this fan? Is the the multiblade fan from Applied?
Also, does it retain the same fan clutch?

I have been running for the 2200 miles from MI to AZ. Great unit.

Uses same fan clutch, I presently have the 2747 on the coach and will try the 2797 in the spring.
