Rick,

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum...

I am glad to see that you managed to post effectively.

For your and everybody else's convenience, please go to the forum control panel/account settings and build a sigfile that has
Your name (we do have that)
A note about your coach and any important mods (there are changes in model/year that sometimes matter
A geographic reference - two reasons some things are climate related and if you have a brand new old friend that can help with a problem, he needs to know if he is in striking range.

Other note, the forum is a mirror of a mail list distribution. The mailing list people can see your @ddress, but the forum people can't. If you post a picture to the forum, the maillist people can't access it. So, it you post the picture on the GMC picture site and link to it, anybody that cares can get it. And, this system is open and can be read by anybody. Some times we have had spambots reading the forum. They can collect @ddresses and phone nr.s easily. To stop that, never post an @ddress or phone that fits the template. If you spell dot or at and one number of a phone the bots are lost.

And, now that you are here, you are a member of a community that is like very few others. I compare it to that of the watermen that are my world. If someone needs help, you help and worry about any fine points or differences later. That is how it is here. That is why I like to welcome new people here much as a new owner or vessel is welcomed there. So,

May the Good Lord bless this coach and all those that set forth within her.

Welcome Rick

Matt

FYI
Rick Staples, of Louisville, Colorado, has been among the GMC community for
at least 16 years. He was traveling out to Bonneville for speedweek in (I
believe) 2002 when his beautiful '75 Eleganza, The Dancing Bear, caught fire
at the Onan. By the time the nearest fire department got there, it was
finished. He and Ruth were lucky to get it stopped and get out with their
lives.

Welcome back, Rick.

Rick,

Welcome to the group, family, cult, asylum...

...snip....

Thanks for the kind words. I sort of fell out of the list when I had some health issues way back when. That was also the days of the "Tire Wars", plus I found myself spending hours a day on the list while still working full time. Now that I'm retired I'll try again.

I should clarify a bit of bdub's post: I DO have a '75 Eleganza, though it's by no means beautiful. Ruth calls it the "before" of a before and after picture show. I DO call it "The Dancing Bear". Fortunately however, it was not we who were in the disastrous fire mentioned above, and old TZE165V100397 is still plugging along. We did have an electrical fire last summer, which is a humorous/horror story for another day. Very Happy

Well, now I'm stumped. Who's coach was that, Rick?

Sorry, I don't know. We've never been to Bonneville, and in August 2002, I was still recovering from brain surgery to clip off an aneurysm. (So despite the rumors, I DO have a brain, and I have witnesses who've seen it! Now if I could just find it myself consistently..... Laughing

Rick,

I remember hearing of the aneurysm. When you dropped off the GMC list we were afraid you had passed on! Glad to hear you are still around and a big welcome back.
