I'm a little concerned that the 4 screws in the back of my TV's (19 and 20") might not be up to the task of holding the unit under road use. I know a lot of folks use swingaway and pivot mounts. Has anyone had a problem?

I have a 22" LED mounted in a typical wall mount on the vertical wall in the rear of the coach. It has not been a problem, and has not become unattached from the wall. It's been there at least 3 years.
I mounted a smaller 15" LED on a swing down mount, under the kitchen cabinet. It does tend to lower the TV while running down the road. I don't think the mount was designed for road use and the fittings does not have high enough friction. But, it does what I wanted. I did install reinforcements in the overhead cabinet floor, to support the weight. And, used T-nuts to spread the weight of the frame and TV. I think the swind down frame is heavier than the small TV.

Our TV is a 19" TV/DVD combo and I drive on a lot of bad roads including miles of dirt from time to time. I have the TV mounted per the album below and have never had a problem with anything coming loose or cracking (I will double check that).

Kerry,
You may want to look at my mount this weekend. It depends on the 4
DIN-mount screws and is mounted to the tile board with 4 well-nuts. While
the current. 22" flat screen weighs only 10 lbs, its predecessor gave no
trouble during its 8 year, probably 45,000+ mile ride and it weighed at
least twice as much. The mount itself is a very simple Lexan and aluminum
affair which would be trivial for you to fabricate -- certainly less than
an hour.

The four bolts on the plate on the back of the TV usually thread into a steel plate/box inside the TV which distributes the weight. The ones that come with the TV usually have Nylock on them (Blue stuff) that locks the threads. This box also keeps the tv body stiff to protect the LCD screen. Should be plenty. Now what you screw the other end into and what with is where you need to be sure you use the right materials.
Bolts through the 1/2 particle board walls are ideal. Drywall screws into that are NOT.

Ergotron makes some very high quality arms with heavy spring tensioners to
adjust for sag weight. When properly adjusted via simple hex screws, the
springs allow for simply grabbing the monitor (or TV) bezel to reposition
quite far in 3 directions. Stays put, though I use a 3" wide velcro strap
for driving since horizontal movement is not tensioned.
I have the LX model and 28" Vizio mounted on rear wall, facing rearward
over the king bed. Mount is fixed with two bolts thru wall with two fender
washers each on inside wall.
Easy to reposition the tv up and toward center for movies. Thus similar to
rotating-down ceiling mount location, which normally would block overhead
storage access and be a visually obtrusive ceiling wart. Stows quickly
against wall below the overhead cabinet when not in use.

Its not the least expensive solution but solved several issues and is a
pleasure to use due to its heavy cast AL parts and general robust quality
throughout the assembly.
