I had some water problems and as a result a portion of the headliner has
come loose from the body and the material has come loose from the headliner.
All suggestions as how to fasten the headliner and material will be
appreciated.

Replacing with new material is probably the wisest way to go.

You might search for headliner on http://www.gmcmhphotos.com/photos/
250 + pages on headliners. John Harper re-glued his original material but most of us just install new stuff.

Push-pins work for a Walmart type fix.
Replacement is a better fix.
