We are at the FMCA Western Region rally in Indio, CA and there is a vendor here that has the latest in window shades: MCD Innovations. These shades are pull down shades that offer either a double (sun screen and daylight blocking shade) or single (Daylight blocking shade) window shade. They are very nice, but not inexpensive) I'm wondering if anyone here has used these in a GMC? Evidently, they are being installed on most new coaches these days and we did see several examples on new coaches they have on display here.

They require about 2" to install them on the windows, which might present a problem fitting them behind the upper cabinets. If anyone has used these, I would appreciate any feedback you might have on the product.

Thanks.

I'm planning on visiting these folks when I get to Quartzsite. Have looked
them up on the net and they have a very interesting product, and there is
an installer only 30 miles away from where I live...

Let me know what you think, Gary. They certainly do look like an interesting product and much more easily cleaned than the metal blinds we currently have.

Gary was that your stretch we drove by on the dirt road leading to the desert bar in Parker Arizona today? It was a long one stretched in the middle and tail end in a desert dry camp site.

Carl,
We have used the Day/Night shades from Ken and Margret Guske. Guske Sales 810-987-5788. Our shades are a completely different concept from the MCD roller type shades. We ordered a complete set for a 26 Glenbrook and used them for about 12 years. They are quiet and do an excellent job. We ordered the day/night combination. The night shade offers more privacy. We would go with these for our newly acquired coach but we saw some new shades on the market that would offer some newer features.

Our shades were a fan-fold type. I see now that Menards had some cellular shades that would offer more insulating values. Our shades were supported with some tension strings on each side of the window. The newer shades do not require these strings. I believe that the newer shades can also be stored at the top and at the bottom of the window. This would allow you to close the lower portion of the window. Not sure about this feature, one would need to check them out.

I installed the Guske shades myself. It was easy to do, they did not take up much room and once adjusted, worked flawlessly. I would check out this style of shade before going with a roller type.
