I stopped for an overnight visit with Dan & Teri on Sept 4th, 2014. At
that time, Dan was hurting with ribs that had become brittle and several
had broke. The 3 of us chatted for a couple hours and hit the sack. I
left early the next morning to drive home to NC; Dan was still sleeping.
Dan and I had communicated often via email. I had not heard from him,
either on the net or personally, for 6 weeks, so I called Teri and left a
message two days ago asking about Dan. Having not heard back, I now know
why. We have lost a good friend to us all. May he rest in peace and my
condolences to Teri and his family. He will be missed.

We were so saddened to here of Dan's passing. Spending time with him on a number of occasions at rally's, the Oregon coast and out at Quartsite we came to know Dan and Teri as one of the great members of our community. He was great with a stories or one to offer advice on our GMC. I remember a
time we went looking for him in Quartsite only to find out we just missed him as he was looking for us and our GMC. He said he was great time talking to Paul's father who was watching the GMC. Fortunately we hooked up later. We loved living through his travels on his blog and will surely missed him as the community will. Our condolences go to Teri and his family. RIP Dan, the community will sure miss you.

Remembering Dan will bring smiles. I was so fortunate to meet him and Teri in Montgomery. Never a hint of his challenges, from him. I own a GMC mostly because of his blog, two blown engines and all. The solar power, the on-demand water heater that worked so well despite criticism, geocaching, the creativity to dry camp overnight in cemeteries (nice and quiet), the love he had for all the important things in his life, be it a higher power, his wife and their family, the willingness to respond to PMs, all show a rare kind of person.

I am glad for Dan, sorry for myself. I will smile and thank Dan for all his help for us.

John,

You took the words out of my mouth. I'm very sad and will miss this man who I never met in person, but know as a friend.

Is there any way to circulate a condolence card for Teri that we all might "sign?"
