Mac,

They're not Aussies, they're bloody Kiwis!

Never tried this craziness when the HOG HK club toured the south island of New Zealand but I did bungee jump. Here's a piece of
advice for any of you that want to try that, DO NOT EAT TEX-MEX FOOD BEFORE JUMPING!

Sorry 'bout dat, Rob, Trevor and any other Aussies I may have offended! What I THOUGHT I was forwarding was a URL for a wild jet boat ride. Turns out THAT was also in Kiwi land. I had gotten to the boat ride FROM the giant swing video. Don't know how to find it otherwise.

Advance the "swing" video almost to the end and then a bunch of videos will show up, including the jet boat ride.

That was interesting to me 'cause I have a 14.5 foot jetboat with a 175 HP Mercury Sport-Jet propulsion system that will hit 50 mph with two aboard. It's like a water-going go-cart! LOTS of fun with your butt maybe about 12" above the waterline!

Mac, Bob and I did the Shotover jets in 1989 when we went to Australia and
NZ with two other couples. We had owned several jet boats and Bob thrilled
quite a few riders in ours. On the Shotover, you're going against the
current, so anytime they get close to a wall, the driver just let's off the
gas... Still, a thrill. Count me out on the bungee and that swing.

Mac,

Mate, we're just "havin' you on!"

When I was based here in the 1980's one of my Kiwi mates had a jet boat and he took me for a ride down in Christchurch and he scared
the be-Jesus out of me! Skimming along at 50 mph in water that's REALLY shallow and in between the rocks was scary big time!

BTW those two girls reminded me of the girl that got us all to do a bungee jump. When it came to her turn instead of jumping off the
platform she stepped backwards TWICE! Finally the "jumpmaster" told her not to look down just look straight forward. Off she went
letting out a blood curdling scream all the way down! HILARIOUS! They give you a video of your jump and that night at the hotel we
played it over and over!

Rob M.

Not sweatin' it, Rob. Just apologizing for my error.

You really ought to go watch the jetboat video that comes up after the "big swing" video ends. It just might remind you of your ride in Christchurch. Commercial jetboat carrying maybe 20 passengers running full-tilt down a narrow, twisting canyon with maybe 2-3 feet of water in it with boulders and smaller rocks everywhere! Here in the US, passengers would be wearing helmets as well as life jackets.

I took mine up a feeder of Grand Lake in Oklahoma. Got to about a mile of the Missouri border when water got too skinny (maybe 10") even at idle. I killed the engine when stones on the bottom started scraping the hull, climbed out, and pushed the boat back down stream about 25 feet or so and then headed home. Everybody else was on PWCs and went a bit farther upstream. One collected rocks in the intake grate and locked up. I towed that one home with my jetboat! Great fun!

My first cousin spent 6 months in Oz and went bungee jumping up in the Snowy Mountains somewhere. She is not a petite woman and they missed the guess on how much slack she needed and she actually went in the water head first. Left her top in the water and had to hang upside down with her boobs out while they reeled her in... She took it well enough that she laughs about it...now.

My daughter begged me to let her bungee jump when we were there and I would not let her. I just did not trust people who walk around up side down all the time. She has never let me forget not letting her do it.

I REALLY want to do it too -- but there was a waiting line. I don't stand
in lines.

Ken,

That's silly, keep in mind that the blood supply to those of us that live Downunder rushes to our head feeding our brain which helps
us think. With you guys Upover it rushes to your feet and I don't think that helps with thinking!
