On the table comparing oem and various aftermarket air bag systems, it listed the Sully system to have less than the full 4" up and down travel. Can anyone shed light on why it shows less than the oem travel range? Thanks in advance.

Todd Sullivan conducted a live change out of the stock system on a coach
that was projected on the large screen at his tech session at the 2012
Spring GMCMI Convention in Shawnee, Oklahoma. A downloadable pdf with
comparison chart is available at www.gmcmi.com/technical-session-handouts,
close to bottom of list under "Rear Suspension".

The bag has a built-in bump stop that stops the downward travel about 3-1/2 inches whereas the OEM went the full 4" down. On the 73 and 74 models, this is a good thing, because without the stop the rear wheels will scrub holes in the wheel well liners if a bag goes to zero PSI (blowout) while underway.

Sure 'nuff! That was our coach "The Money Pit."

We also did Kim's coach in the campground after the demo.
