Found something interesting in changes with GM vans, and trucks after 1999. I had the blower stop working in my 1996 Chevy Astro van. Went to Auto Zone. Price seemed fine. $32. But the replacement blower was made in China. Had a lifetime warranty. So what. So I want to my local pull a part. $10, used, but made in the USA. That I trusted. There was a 2000 Astro. What I found was that the blower, and housing had a rubbery cover over the entire unit. It seems that GM wanted to insulate the motor, and blower housing from the heat, and cold under the hood. I'm thinking that we might get some improvements in our units by covering our's with that foyale bubble wrap. I know that the 77, and 78 heater/ AC are more effective. But any performance that can be improved. I'll take it. GM apparently thought the cost was worth the expense. Has anyone done this?Bob Dunahugh Member GMCMI 78 Royale
