I do have direct experience with both Patterson and Bounds carbs, one on the Royale and one on the Clasco. I was asked a while back if they seemed different in any way, so I switched them and could detect no difference from the drivers seat or fuel consumption over the short test period. JimB's rebuilder sets them up on a flow bench just as DickP does and both clean to the same degree and appear to replace the same stuff inside. Can't comment on who uses which brand rebuild parts as I don't know. Bottom line from my direct experience from the drivers seat is it does not matter which you have. Both are good and both are likely better than anything you can do on your own without a flow bench.
