I am proud to announce that my Brother In-Law Jim has successfully
subscribed to the list! I suspect that he will be sending an introductory
message to the group once he has settled in a bit. I've already briefed him
on what a great collection of GMCers hang out here, and as a new GMC Owner I
have encouraged him to make himself comfortable here and if he has any
questions to ask away!
Welcome aboard Jimbo!

If I was a new owner I would only search the topics for which I had a problem at first, just to gain some confidence in my ability to conquer some of the challenges I was facing. Looking too much at this could give you the false impression that everything is about to fail on it unless you drop everything and rip it all apart. During the honeymoon of GMC ownership if it ain't broke don't go breaking it just to be sure. Take it a piece at a time and years from now when you look back remember all you did and forget all you paid!

Part of the problem with GMC ownership is the fact that we come into this
game when we are no longer young and enthusiastic as a new puppy. I still
remember my first car. It was a Model A Ford coupe. It had an engine fire
and the harness was burned up. I "hot wired" it and drove it home. $15.00
was what I paid for it. I was 15. No drivers license or permit either. No
insurance. Things were different then in Rural America. Spent the best part
of a school year fixing it the way I thought I wanted it at the time. When
I think back on it now, that was one sad model A. Seemed like a Cadillac to
me at the time. Rite of passage, independence day, basic freedom, call it
what you will.
Same deal with the GMC. A chance at a different lifestyle, to see what
this Great Country of ours looks like up close and personal. Same promise,
but we are older and perhaps a bit jaded now. Doesn't take as much to
dampen our enthusiasm now, as it did when we were 15. Just don't bite off
more than you can chew, you'll be O.K.

Jim and Larry - I agree with both of you. Sharon and I have had such
exciting trips in our Classic GMC and many very enjoyable times with those
who drive same type coaches. This is one awesome community.
Merry Christmas and may your ventures in your GMC in 2015 be one awesome
time.
