Anyone have pics of the bath roof structure on a 76 side bath Glenbrook?

Wondering if a ~ 12 x 18 domed skylight [another swap meet cheepie] would fit forward of the existing vent, which I would keep.

The chassis is design for 14” by 14” skylights. By trying to put something bigger you will be cutting into the coach frame. The 14 x 14 is plenty big enough and fairly inexpensive at your RV supply store. If you want to go with the Fantastic or Maxx fans then you're going to spent just under $200

The fans that we installed was about $25 at a surplus RV store, but can be had new for under $50 or less. It is not worth the effort to try and jerry rig a non standard Vent, way too much trouble.

This is how ours looks and it was an easy install.

Just go with a Fantastic fan - you get the light as well as a great fan. Totally freshens up the look inside the bath module!

I'm finishing up installation of two Maxxfans and can tell there's more than enough room in my ceiling for a 12 x 18 skylight. I have a 14 x 14 hole and the roof structure is several inches away in both directions. Right now I'm kind of wishing I just went for replacing the original fan with a skylight, can't see the need for that much air circulation in such a tiny space.

Mine is a 77 Kingsley, no interior references left in it however I could provide you with pics and measurements where the frame members are. I'm guessing the structure would be the same. Plan to get back to it tomorrow.

Thanks. Didn't know a conventional vent would fit. Fantastic fan seems like overkill.
I have one in the rear, works great.

Id appreciate pics of the framing when you get a chance.

One factor for the domed light is I am almost 6'8" and it might help me stand upright in there. It might help the aim Razz

I don't know the differences in models so not sure if conventional vent will fit however my bathroom is moving forward (it was rear table/bed and wet bath) as I am installing a house sized queen so 5' from the back for the bathroom wall and I installed a conventional 14" X 14" vent.

I measured from the rearmost crossbeam that the plastic interior moulded shell screws into so you can measure from where the roof sheeting starts.
39 1/2" to front of next beam. 73 1/2" to rear of next beam.
From side of coach lateral beams from aluminum extrusion roof sheeting slides into.
9 3/3" to outside and 30 1/4" to inside of next.
So your window of opportunity is 34" X 19 3/4"
Will have to reduce file size of pic to send. Later

Hope this helps!

Just crossed my mind that you could also verify stringer location with a cheap studfinder.

I thought stud finders used magnets to find nails in wooden studs, the body structure of the GMC is aluminum.

Mine's ultrasonic. I'm not sure it has sufficient discrimination to detect
an aluminum rib, but it's been doing a great job finding wooden 2x4 studs
for at least 20 years.

Well just for giggles I tried my $15 one on top of silver faced insulation and moved over to a rib and it located the rib, I had to move it slow.
Then tried it on the front plastic cap and it located the rib.
Remember an old one I had years ago had a dial for sensitivity. See Many new ones have all sorts of features like non ferrous mode etc. From what I see the cheapest ones like mine are just a little more sensitive to things like aluminum ribs.
