I have used different brands of tires over the years but have found the
Goodyear G159's to be a great and very strong tire with highway tread. They
are commercial truck tires and can be re-cruved if you are into that kind
of economy move. I don't let my tires go past 7 years regardless. We are
in the northwest and the coach is in a barn. If my GMC was kept outside
and in the southwest or south I would not go beyond 5 years.

As you said, the G159 is a commercial truck tire. There have been reports on the GMCnet of their distinct rough ride. They have a very stiff carcass and are designed for rethreading or regroving, hardly a consideration in the GMC.
Consensus has been to go with a steel belted tire with poly sidewalls. This is closest to the basis ply tire that the suspension was designed to work with.
All major brands and some of the not major brands make perfectly good LT225/75R16 tires if you have 16" wheels.
With 16.5" wheels your choices become very slim.
