Spent 3 years on a chemical tanker. If it ended with ene we carried it. Smell permitted everything but especially nylon and rayon as they are made from the chemicals. My wife would not let me enter the house with my clothes or shoes so they stayed on porch. After a few days when I could again smell them they went in the garbage. That was over 40 years ago but don't expect anything has changed.

How about giving us a signature showing your name and location and GMC model?

They're called aromatic hydrocarbons for a good reason. Seems like most enes are toxic. Good that you survived the experience. Easy enough to google your handle and get a name and location. Maybe you could analyze a GMC MH for energy efficiency.

I did elevator repairs in a steel mill where they did the galvanizing.
The steel went through an acid bath to clean it, the pickling line.
Anything made of steel was going rusty at a rapid rate just from the fumes.
My tools included. The acid was piped through glass tubing.
It sure cleared the sinus'.

Worked 34 years for Dow Chemical Co. The early years were as an operator and then maintenance and finally engineering group. You brought all sort of smells home on the cloths. Started in Ziplock, went to Hydrocarbons, then Amines then multi plants and finally Ag.
