I couldn't get anyone to sell me a tow dolly for a reasonable price, so I have opted for a tow plate for the Soul. I got hold of Blue Ox instructions, and in so doing the search engine produced Demco as well. I looked at their instructions. Cost for the plate is close between the two. Since the Demco required no cutting of the front fascia/grille assembly I opted for it. I've only Bounds' experience on the Blue Ox, he noted ~~4 hours. For the Demco, I spent an hour removing the fascia and bolting on the tow plate. Next day, another hour drilling four holes, trimming the radiator baffles, and then replacing the fascia. No holes in the fascia or grille, and two hours total for the install. Highly recommended. It simply sandwiches between the bumper and bumper mount plates with slightly longer than stock bolts. Two holes are drilled in the bumper bar for access, and two bolt hols through the bottom of the bar - nut installed via the access holes. Cost me thirteen bux for an 11/32 bit and a 1 1/8" bimetal holesaw.
Now I have to decide, do I modify my el cheapo tow bar or simply get the cheapest Demco. Probably the latter gets the nod, and I'll still be able to tow the hotrod pickup when I want.
