I have had a problem with the drum brakes on the left rear wheel. The shoes would not return and contact the top center pin after applying the brakes. The suggested possibilities ran from bad brake hose, bad backing plate, bad springs to wrong shoes. In the end the problem turned out to be a bad wheel cylinder. The pistons wouldn't move freely in a brand new wheel cylinder. Several of us devoted a lot of time troubleshooting the situation. Since the wheel cylinder was new we didn't consider it to be the problem until the other possibilities were exhausted. BTW, the bad wheel cylinder was made in China and came from NAPA.
I appreciate everyone's help and suggestions along the way.
All the best,
