For you solar guys, a solar friend of mine sent me this.

136 watt rated amorphous solar mats that are made to stick on metal roofs. They are 15.5" wide and 18 feet long. Nominal 12volt. I know things get crowded on the roof of a GMC but it seems to me this is a more elegant way to charge batteries than a generator. At $.47/watt these now cost $64 each.
Any comments?

they went out of business...
I was on a river cruise ship this summer that had a dozen of them...
