Hi
These lifts are typically rated for a balanced load (6000 pounds front and 6000 pounds rear). The GMC would have more like 8000
pounds on the rear so would require a 16000 pound lift. The HF lift is only 116 inches between the posts so you would need to fold
the mirrors and watch very closely when you drive onto it, good luck if you have Ramco mirrors.

John Sharpe and I did a LOT of research into lifts awhile back we came up with the following lift as the best for a GMC:

Below you will find some detailed information on this lift and GMC's:
Rob, I have been going over the specs on the lift. I measured the distance of the mirrors with a plumb bob and determined that the
measurement is 112.5 inches. The track of the wheels on the GMC with spacers is 87" on the front and the rear is 91".
With a column width of 120" this gives less that 3.75" clearance on each side. The track for the lift is 91", meaning there is a 2"
clearance for the front axle and the rear tires at 91" would be flush on each side. The movable runway can be set to a maximum tire
drive-through clearance 98" which gives a 3.5" clearance on each side. How they measure the runway length gives 206"for the GMC
which is more than enough with the runway length of 229". The doorway is wider than the entire lift measurement of 130". I think
these measurements give adequate if not some tight dimensions for use with the GMC.
Rob, Bendpak is a well known brand that is used by a lot of shops. I like the 120" drive through width. I need to go over and
measure the doors to make sure the ones in 88 are 10' doors; measure the wheelbase of the GMC & Spectrum; and check the weight of
the axles on the coaches. This one specifies 7000# front & rear capacity. I would think that all the others would have equal
capacity on positions. I'm not really concerned about being able to pick up the Spectrum if it costs thousands more.

We wound up buying four tower lifts off Craigslist that roll out and lift the wheels. The towers have a capacity of 15,000 pounds
each so we can lift a vehicle up to 60,000 lbs. Since these lifts were designed for big rigs we had to come up with some
modifications for the smaller front wheels and way to lift the rear under the bogie and frame as we feared lifting just one rear
wheel could damage the shock absorbers of the OEM single bag system. I have a mate with a truck maintenance company across the
street from my workshop in Sydney and he lets me use this type of lift whenever I need to. I've included a link to a photosite
below. Unfortunately the lift we purchased in Houston were three phase and so we had to purchase four phase converters to make them
work. We got them to work but have yet to lift a GMC with them due to other projects. The nice thing about these is that you can
roll them into a corner out of the way when you're not using them. Believe it or not they are stored in my 40' x 18' storage unit
along with my project VW towd, 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and my GMC.

I have always figured the first dollar was buying "dreaming rights" but anything over the first dollar was "Stupidity Tax!"
But my main reason to reply is the Northern Tool four post lift has an Overall Length of 235 inches... something like 19.5 feet.

12k 4-post lifts are fairly routine on craigslist for $2k. Most want you to dismantle them for that price, but not always. Larger capacity, chain-drive (vs cable) lifts DO come up infrequently, though. I was able to find an 18k chain-drive. 'Texas-style' 4-poster with 204" X 22" runways for $3500 but it needed $500 of additional parts. Parts for Texas-style lifts, and maybe some other types, are available here:

Rob,
An inch and three quarters is plenty and that is total by the way. That is 7/8 both sides.
When I pull my coach into the work bay, if I set the left mirror to touch the right has about an inch.
Yes, I have to be REAL careful when I back it out. Some times it takes more than one try.
If you are ever in northern Michigan, stop at the locks and watch a ship go through. They know what size the locks are and that is just a very little more than the size the make the ships these days.

DOUH! Naturally you're correct, the reason I mentioned it is because the BendPak lift with a column width of 120" gives 3.75"
clearance on each side.

I just got off the phone with http://shopequipmentla.com/four-post-lifts/ (909)-225-5388 and the cost to ship a CR 14 to Hobbs NM is
$900. Adding that to $3995 you get $4895 therefore the wider BendPak lift is cheaper!
