I was hunting down some electrical gremlins this morning. From my reading there should be 2 ground straps from the body to the frame (front right and rear left. I can't find either of these grounds. I see the engine to frame ground, intact and in good condition.

Can anyone point me where to look for the two body to frame grounds... pic links even.

thanks

You say you can see the engine to frame ground
But you can't find the two body to the frame grounds.

There should be two engine to frame grounds. One at the right front side of the engine. The other one is at the rear transmission mount.

Off the right cab spar to the front right cradle area an off the rear trans mount to the cradle.

On my 76 PB, the front strap is located from body to frame around or electrically bypassing the right front body cushion. I do not have a picture here and the coach is not at home to take one. I have my front wheel liners out and I see it all the time when I'm working around the right front wheel.

The rear one is located on the floor of the battery box storage area right near the door. You will see one vertical bolt with cables on it. That is it. On the underneath side of that bolt you will find a cable going to the frame. Somewhere I read that this rear cable was only installed if you have an ONAN generator. It was part of the Onan installation package.

Todd,
Thanks I see the right front ground strap now. Its in a place not easy to see.

Ken,
I looked back there and specifically on or around the house battery ground bolt and could find nothing. I'll look again and I'll add one if I can't find it.

Thanks guys.

What kind of generator do you have?

That ground strap is not really necessary because you have the front one, but I would still install it. On the ones that I have seen, the bolt goes vertically through floor. On the top of the floor that bolt is the negative battery connection and the Onan negative connection. On the bottom of that same bolt was another cable going direct to the frame.

Ken,
Mine has the original 6kw Onan.

I've put it on the winter to do list.

Now I just need to get my in-floor heating going in the new shop and I'll be all set!
