What is the difference between the GMC MH and the Olds Toronado lower control arms? [message #264694]

Is there any difference between the stock GMC MH and the Car lower control arms?
If so what?

Also are the axles longer on the GMC MH than on the car?
If so - by how much?

Dimension wise no difference. The difference is in additional reinforcing around the ball joint, the shock mount, near the bushings, and around the torsion bar hex. Also some additional welding is done on the seams. That is what is done now. From the factory it would have been less but how much less depends on the timing of original production

Yes axles are longer but I don't know how much. Others will be able to answer that.

Also the tapered hole in the ball joint mounting is a larger size in the motor home unit. The auto unit can be reamed to the larger size.

FYI - If I remembered and got paid for the things I forgot just today alone - I be rich. No joking!!
I either forgot that I even did it or where I unhooked the wood spliter; until I ran into it with the tail gate on the F-150 while backing up not even 10 mintues after I had unhooked it. Rolling Eyes

About 8 years ago or so; I fall on the ice and was knocked out. I spent some time in the hospital and they said I was lucky that almost died. A couple years later I did it again while looking to purcahse a used 53 foot trialer to use to move with.

So my memory is BAD!! Heck, I have been given the Alzheimers test by a brain specailist and the Ottawa head injury clinic. I failed it 4 times over 2 years and that was before I was 50. I'm 54 now and sad to say it is only getting worse.

Thank you again. Maybe this time I will remember. Very Happy
