This is a deal for one of the low end dash cams.

Something to play with for $20. I am ordering one or 2 now.

Can't be much but for that price, what the hell.

The seller has been reliable with me.

For that kind of chump change, it would be a great deal to use as a remote diagnostic tool - clamp it in place and point it at something you want to watch. Maybe keep an eye on that tie rod end to see if it's the source of your front end wiggle, or other similar "need to be in two places at once" situations. Or I suppose it would make a great nanny-cam or after-the-fact burglar camera to keep an eye on what's going on in your house (keeping in mind that if someone STEALS it, they're going to be able to see what you were up to...). Just buy it !
I bought one a year ago or so and have it in my Rav4.
I thought I'd do the Russian thing and catch all kinds of crashes and crap,
but so far NaDa. It's surprisingly good quality for the price....of course
I paid less. Mine was $17.97 direct from some province in China postage
included.
Top quality!

Mike,

You could probably drive around most NS forever and not get anything good. You at least need to go down to Halifax. But if that doesn't get it, you can always go to Quebec. There are easily enough crazies there to make good footage.

Well I ordered 2 of them and they came in the mail yesterday. I thought the ad indicated they included the SD card, but that is not the case. I can't get it to turn on (without the card) after charging the battery, so now I need to find a deal on the 32 gig card. Was really hoping to pipe the recording right out of the unit to a computer hard drive, but the A/V cable for that was not included and apparently it does not send the recording out on the USB line until you do a data dump from the SD card. Sad Anybody else get theirs?

Walmart has the SD card. I suggest that you buy the micro SD card that comes with an adapter case for standard SD. That way you will be able to use it in the new camera or device that you will eventually buy.

Mine came yesterday and did include the USB cable, but no other cables. You won't have to crank up your torsion bars because of its weight. Now to find that extra 32 gig card....

Mine came with a USB transfer cable and a USB power cable with a cigarette lighter plug on it. Carey, that's why I bought 2 of them, one for front and one for the rear so the load would be balanced and I wouldn't have to adjust those torsion bars again! Laughing
Smile Ken, thanks for the tip about the micro card and adapter, going to Wally World later today to check them out. My high dollar camera (high dollars years ago) uses an XD card so I am out of luck in sharing the cards as long as that camera keeps working. About a year ago my friends I-phone took a better close up picture than my $300 camera, but then again, that phone cost him several hundred and at least 2 years of hundred-plus monthly bills, so I wasn't really too miffed about it. 32 gig SD card with adapter 24.25 incl. tax at Walmart.
I can't get it to shut down and still charge the battery. Power button only works when charger or USB cable is not energized. Anybody figure out a way to charge the battery without having the unit on?

Still waiting for the one I ordered. Placed the order on Oct. 18, was to be shipped on the 23rd, the tracking info indicated it left Seacacus, NJ the evening of the 27th by USPS. Some times coast to coast delivery is two days, sometimes 10. It might get here in the next few days. It will be interesting to see what is included in the package.

Mine came today and while I haven't set it up yet, it appears to be a decent build.
I already have a similar camera (a Mobius) but, for $20, I could leave this installed permanently. I video'd my entire drive through Italy last Spring with my Mobius.

I like the monitor as I Think it will allow me to place it more accurately and get the GPS in the frame.

BTW: Here's a Dash Cam Forum -
https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/

Haven't checked yet but, I'm hoping there are tricks and tips there.

Dan, I get advertisements for those about every two weeks from somewhere or other. Most of them are Chinese knockoffs with very poor video quality.

Current model dash cams use micro SD cards and H.264 encoding. Most of these are old design using full size SD cards. For the price they are something to play with but they are not great picture quality.

If you want an interesting very small one, take a look at this guy.

Most of these cheapie cameras flooding the market now use the full size card.

Most new cameras use the micro SD card.

If you buy one like this you can use it now (with the included adapter) and later when you discard the camera, it can be used in the newer microSD card applications. I took the one out of my junk camera which was SD and installed in my my microSD GPS.

Yup, that's the one I have.

The video quality is remarkable (and there's actually good user forum and developer support on the internet).

The thing is hardly bigger than a Tic-Tac container.
