Hi everyone,
So I took the steering wheel off my 1977 23 feet GMC since the key was stuck inside the lock and also it was not locking in place.
This is the one with the rear bathroom....not sure if that makes any difference to the steering assembly.
I took off the wheel, and the 2 round parts below that and the metal collar to fix and lube things.
I left it to deal with other things and now 2 months later I don't really remember which goes first and how. Lots of parts and screws
Instead of wasting time trying many combinations of how it all goes back together, I thought I ask here.
Can anyone guide me please? Photos or diagrams would be a lot of help.
I removed the steering wheel itself and the parts and bolts below that to get to the lock and the steering locking mechanism too.
Thank you all so much,
AJ

AJ,
Download this:

There's one minor error in the description of the lock cylinder release --
the correct procedure should be obvious since you've already disassembled
it -- otherwise, it covers everything you need to know.

AJ,
I assume you don't have a Maintenance Manual or a Parts Book as with those two documents you should be able to put the steering
column back together:
You can download them here:
