The Phoenix came with no furnace, just a electric refrigerator, and gas stove( which didn't work correctly) Since it had been flooded, the kitchen was coming out so changed everything to electric and took the propane tank out as well. ROOM to put stuff Since I live in deep south Texas, I don't want to be where I need a furnace, I sure do like the extra space, does anyone want a big 'ol propane tank still full of propane

Fort Stockton may not be deep south Texas, but that's where I hit a foot of
snow. Still, the 10 isn't exactly the North Pole in January either.
Good luck with your plan!

What we enjoy most is the fact that we can travel to places that would be otherwise impractical. Frequently this is because lodging at those locations is unavailable. It has been more than a single excursion that we ended up having to heat the coach to be comfortable. Yes, if we have solid shore power, I can heat the coach comfortably to about 40°F with the electric element in the roof A/C. That is why we burned propane one night at Dothan. After that I decided to always carry a warm hat and gloves. That will be the rule for as long as we travel by coach.
So, as long as you have no interest in going any place that ever gets cold, or if you are going there and you are promised 50 amp in the slip. Then, I guess you can do without heat. We have our best times when school is in session. This was originally forced by Mary's employment at Sylvan. I don't miss that at all. I believe I would miss things like Yellowstone (34°F two nights in September - 30 amp at Fishing Bridge) and the Blue Ridge Parkway campground (30°F one night at 5800ft in late April no hook up at all). Then, I guess you can do without a heater.
If I knew of someone buying a coach and I heard that it had no heater other than electric, I would advise that said buyer seriously consider the value of the subject coach. I had to replace our heater and reinstalling from scratch could be a bear.

Well, if I'd of had my druthers, I would have put in a new furnace but that was not in the cards money wise because...
The ducting was wasted, that wonderful little booster fan was hangin' in space and the wiring.. Oh yeah
the furnace holes were fiber glassed over 'an the propane plumbin' was missing, as was the furnace stand.
OK Bdub, now where do you live? I hope to be able to go to the spring convention, as long as the stars and moon aline.

Bean Station got nippy till Stick Miller lent me an electric blanket. I consider that to be the answer for those of us in the South. My furnace is out for inspection for nearly a year now, I just haven't got to it yet, and have seldom needed it. Since I now have my own electric blanket, I'm not in as much of a hurry to put the furnace back even if it clears inspection. I have one show each March or April in either St Louis, Louisville, or Gnashville and one in late January in Strakburg MS where it can get cold. When the heat opump shuts down, I have the blanket and a 1500Watt electric heater. Nothing freezes, I stay warm in bed, and Sam loves it.

I did get some figures to do the furnace and it sure wasn't pretty so figured that I'd spend the money on make'n sure she go, stop, redo the kitchen, back bed (with the required storage under)redo the dash to digital and make the dash A/C work.
Don't know where the Frio is, as I'm try'n to get jazzed up to go to Minnesota, Oh Joy
Haven't been in cold weather for 15 years. Umm I do remember Montgomery tho.. sure did wish I had a electric blanket

Driving gmc up to mn? You will be passing alot of rv's going to oppisite direction! So far 10 day forecast shows little freezing. My sister is visiting next week and will be using the gmc as guest room. Right after i drop her off at airport i will be pumping in the pink antifreeze. Will not be long before the cold is here. 1st week in nov. Is deer season, i usually burn up a full take of propane in furnace keeping gmc livable that week.
I have been camping in august before where a furnace allowed us to still enjoy the weekend. This year in mid september with wind blowing one weekend the furnace was needed again. Electric blankets are fine, and electric heaters can keep some chill out. For me it is also about keeping healthy. Some cold crappy camping years ago meant a cold and caugh the next week.
My gmc is my toy, but i bought it because i live with 3 girls. My wife and daughters Never know about the weather. And my life is miserable if they are. Too hot or too cold. Had one weekend last year in june where i was out of propane, and i heard about it in the morning.

She says go, I go.
Been married three times, Bein' a hard headed German/Irish Lad ya see. Why else would I buy a GMC?
LOL so you've learned to listen
Minnesota isn't a bad place, least from April to October, December, January and February can seem like a year on their own though
And like Jon mentions, get that GMC winterized ASAP or you will be a fixin the plumbing in the spring
