I'm putting Jim K's system on my 78 Royale. We're in the twin Cities. I'm not driving another mile from the convention without it. There's a fuse it the coach fuse block that's labeled cruise. Does the wire from that fuse go directly to the switch at the end of the turn signal lever. I'm thinking that wire would be great to power my new cruise. I'd just have to cut the turn signal lever, and pull the wire out of the column. Next. Does that lever just pull straight out of the column?Bob Dunahugh

Bob,

Don't mess with the lever at the column. If you grovel on the floor with that under column panel removed, you will see a little tiny three wire connector. On my coach they connect to a larger connector (makes sense?). One of those wires is brown and connects to another switch on the brake pedal. That wire at the brake is the power to the cruise.

Is that a help??

Matt - Comfortably at home.

I've connected the small gray cruise wire for the dash light wire at the engine. The purple cruise wire to the pink at the top of one of the brake switch wires. The red cruise wire to the white on the brake switch. (78 transmode) The brown cruise wire needs ignition switch power. I want that wire to use power from the cruise fuse in the coach panel. That's what I'm looking for.Bob Dunahugh

The cruise fuse also feeds the backup lights. It leaves the fuse block as a 16ga dark green. It goes to the neutral start B/U switch on the steering column. At that switch connector it is crimped in with a 18ga pink double black stripe wire that goes to the 6 position cruise control connector. coming out of that connector it is pink and goes to the cruise dump switch that is part of the brake light switch. After the dump switch it becomes brown goes back to the cruise 6 position connector and continues as brown to the turn signal button.

I hope this helps.
