I was wondering since the HEI ignition coil in the cap has a primary and secondary aspect to voltage and if you keep on cranking on the engine and starter does it add voltage to the coil until I get the engine to start? Or is the voltage constant regardless of the amount of turning over the engine? I am still experiencing difficulties with popping noises in my carb and have since eliminated bad gas, have installed new plugs, tested the module, coil, and spark plug wires. I should note that I have the crossover plates installed and have not yet installed an electric choke. I never had this problem until well after my upper half had been redone. Thanks, My cap and rotor seem OK. Though I do get jolted every once in awhile when touching the plug wires at the terminals on the cap. Thanks gentlemen for any input.
