One of the reasons I haven't been as active on the forum as I used to be is my wife's medical issues.
Next week, (Tuesday) we have an all day appointment at University of Washington Medical Center. If things go "well" we'll be having to spend a lot of time in the Seattle area over the next year or two, including a three to four month stay within a 30 minute drive of UW.
I am thinking it would be nice to find a place to park next to someone's garage or barn, mostly just needing a reliable source of power for wife's medical equipment. (While her O2 concentrator draws less than an AC unit, it has a constant draw and adds up.) But I'd could make due with a RV park within the 30 minute drive.
The reason Id prefer to find "next to garage or barn parking" is I could pull out my "spare" GMC, empty it of accumulated "stuff" and get it ready for a trip up and leave it on site. (Just not before Tuesday...)
I could pay some kind of rent and something for the power.
Does anyone have a line on a parking spot?

Hope things go well.
Our Hospital here had a "friends of" program which had preferred parking as a perk. It cost little or nothing to join and you got a sticker to put on the car. Might be worth contacting the Hospital to see what kind of programs they have.
They might not officially approve of lot camping for the liability issues, but I have seen RVs in Hospital parking lots here.

Mike, Man, I hate that type of news, been through it. If I can be any
assistance to you, just let me know. When Mary was at OHSU Hospital, they
had a small RV park with only electric 30 amp hook ups. It wasn't
advertised but when I asked they found me a spot. Sure was great to have
familiar surroundings during a very stressful time in my life. Perhaps U
dub has something similar. Worth asking about at least. Campus security was
the go to people for me. They even shuttled me to and fro.

Mike, I live close by in Ballard I don't have room at my house but let me
explore some options .
I have a rental in north Seattle I keep a "76" 26' that I'm currently
trying to sell
I could ask the renters if they would be open to the idea
and there are a few other options, let me dig around and see with what I
can come up with
would you bring up the 23' or the 26' good luck Dan

This problem has been building for a few years so it isn't a big surprise. Sad, but not a surprise.
Our local hospital (St. Vincent, Portland, West Hills) also has RV parking with 30 amp hook-up with water. It is real nice to have available even though we live only 12 miles away. (They say it is for in-patient families only, but do not monitor it during the day.)
UW Medical Center is on the UW collage campus and parking is tight. Most is in under ground parking garages. Last year I was told they did not have any RV parking. But they have done a LOT of construction in the last year, so that might have changed. I'll ask again next week. It would be nice to be walking distance while she is actually in the hospital. We'd still need a 3 to 4 month spot for later.
