So my coach has the first generation Holley ProJection setup. The current return line is plumbed into the fill tube (common).
I have to drop my tanks anyways to repair defective fuel level sending units and replace the fuel lines.
My question is.... has anyone installed a selector valve with the accompanying fittings to allow the fuel to be returned to the tank that the fuel is being drawn from?
If I am going to drop the tanks anyways.......

Can the tank drains move the same volume of fuel as what is being pumped back into the tank?
And is having a small piece of hard line hanging under the tanks safe? Seems to me that vibration and movement could seriously affect a connection like that..... the tanks are just held up by straps are they not....?

Since the tanks are connected I don't think it makes much difference. In my case I return to the aux tank.. I did this because the aux tank on both my GMC's were badly rusted and the main tanks were much better. I attributed this to lack of fuel flow in the aux tank. There is no reason to use a 6 port selector valve as the two tanks are interconnected. This is not the case with most two tank vehicles where the tanks are completely seperate.

Jared,
I have not done this mod, but if I were to, I would get the fuel tank selector that I believe came from a Ford dual tank pickup. Unfortunately, I have forgotten the exact application. It is one of the few 6-port valves available. I wish I could remember more and it may be in my notes, but they are a few days away and that makes it mid- October if I can find it at all.
I do not like the idea of connecting the tank drains for two reasons.
One is that both of my tanks show damage on the bottom. having the extra one inch plus to hit is just not a risk I like.
The other is that the mod eliminates any change of fuel inventory management. On this last excursion, we took on over forty-seven gallons of fuel on multiple occasions and in my history, I have twice taken on fifty-three plus gallons. This requires very careful management.

Jared,
When I redid my fuel system last fall I added a selector valve that controls the fuel return to the tank that it come out of. I have a 3 tank system that has the 2 front tanks as the regular tanks and the rear tank as the Aux tank. My system is much more complex than the stock system. The 2 front tanks are tied together with a hose that run between the 2 drain plugs which have been replaced with Tee’s. All lines are either steel or SAE 30R14 barrier hose.

My '93 F-250 has a 6 port fuel selector valve.

Not looking for a 6 port valve, was thinking more towards a 3 port valve similar to what is already used in the GMCMH.
One 3 port valve that is controlled by the Main/Aux switch, and a separate 3 port valve to control the return fuel also controlled by the Main/Aux switch...... 2 separate 3 port valves.
Just an idea.....
