Now that my SEVERAL years long ordeal with the GMC and it's hesitation and power loss is being worked on, I feel positive that we have finally got this one over with. This brings me to the next hurdle, the Tires.
The Current set were bought over 6 years ago and though they have been great, that time limit for use has passed and I can see those micro cracks in the side wall. I have been assured that this has no bearing on the tires usability but I don't want to tear up the GMC's sidewalls with a tire self destructing.

I have been looking around for different types of tires and found a tire at TIRE RACK. Ok, I am NOT associated nor do I work for TIRE RACK but I am a customer.

LINK: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=XPS+Rib&partnum=275R6XPSR

MichelinXPS Rib(Highway Rib Summer)
Size: LT225/75R16
Sidewall Style: Blackwall
Load Range: E
UTQG: None
Price: $270.00 (each)

Cost is high per tire but reviewers claim these tires do not suffer from the time limitations like other tires do. They are bold enough to say the tire is expensive to purchase but you save in the long run because you can run them longer.
Any thoughts on this comment????

There is/was a GMC owner that made a review....

Initial Review, 30,000 Miles on Tires

I put these tires on my 1979 gmc motorhome in 1995
they still look brand new and they preform as good as new

And other Motorhome owners comments.....

Initial Review, 56,000 Miles on Tires

HOLIDAY RAMBLER OWNER
Tires were mounted on a 1994 Holiday Rambler 34 foot motorhome. Had a blowout on an inside dualy. The tire did not come apart, caused no wheel well damage, and we had a safe stop. Tires were 10 1/2 years old. I keep my vehicle weight in limits, always clean and cover the tires when parked and keep them cold inflated to 80psi. I now have 6 new Michelin XPS LRE RIB Radials. Would not move my coach with any other brand of tire.

Initial Review, 12,000 Miles on Tires

REXAIR MOTORHOME OWNER
These are on my Rexair Motorhome by Rexhall, but the make/model selector does not list Motorhomes so I picked the closest one. The only problem is, Make sure you cover them up from the sunlight when parked or in storage, as this set, witch are originals, have cracked very badly around the tire to rim area. Other than that they are the best for my Money.

Follow-up Review, 99,999 Miles on Tires
May 16, 2009
Sorry I see I put the wrong Mileage, in my 1st Survey, and this is to correct that, also these are the Original one on this Motorhome. They are twice the price of others, but for the Service that one gets they are well worth the Price. As one will end up buying one or two sets of other Brands to just one set of these. And Like I said in the first survey, the only major item that has happen with this set, is my own fault, Cover them when Parked, so they do not get Sun Damaged. Also the Mileage Driven was wrong, as this site will not let you go over 100,000 mile's in the block that ask's you how many miles have your driven. Where my set has 120,000 milles on them, as that is the miles on the Motorhome. Sorry I did not see this problem till just now.

Now my understanding of my current tires is 6 years and they are done. The Michelin RIB tires seem to have a longer life.

Anyone have any experience in this tire and its service life??? Or a better tire to suggest? I have plenty of time so I am open to suggestions.

Thanks so much for any suggestions or comments.
