I am getting tired of dragging the BBQ/Grill out from under the bed and then setting it out either on the table or more likely a couple of feet from the side of the GMC. I hook direct to the main propane tank to run it.
So I noticed someone on the picture site had been working on a bumper mount grill that looked a little floppy to me.
I have seen the ones mounted into the hitch but I usually have a trailer hooked in there. so the next spot to hang it from is the tire carrier.

The plan is to have a folding, telescoping arm that will center (or nearly center) the Grill while in motion. The Grill weighs about 30 lbs but in transport mode will be only a few inches from the tire. while in use I expect to be able to extend the arm about 58 inches or so. this will put the closest corner of the grill about 18 inches from the coach.

The guy at the Metal supply place only had a kind of thick walled 2 inch square tube. I think the tube weighs in at around 30 lbs too. should I be able to hang the extra weight on the tire rack? I assume they over built the rack. and that it is attached to the frame. (I could just go look but it is kind of raining)

Once you replace everything that is attached to something else. It will all be fixed.
