My family seems to like the idea of taking a trip, but the repositioning back to Phoenix holds no appeal. How practical do you think it would be to one-way the coach out of AZ to somewhere else (Pac NW, Midwest, etc.) and store it there for a period of time until returning to drive it somewhere else and store it there? I know I lose the ability to perform maintenance on it to some extent, but when it gets back to AZ, it is likely to do fewer longer trips.

I would imagine this type of trip would start in the spring before it begins to heat up again here in AZ.
