Added benefit of the swap. The battery doesn't drain down after a few days like it used to. The old Sony radio would occasionally make a sound like it was trying to load a CD, even when it was off. Looks like this was cause of the drain, since the battery hasn't dropped even a 10th of a volt since Saturday.

When adding after market stereos make sure to note the difference
between the always-on connection and the on-with-power. Killed more than
battery. The always-on connection needs very little power to store the
memory. I drive some of my cars only every 3-4 month, and never had a
problem with depleted batteries.

There is no "old one". I replaced the Sony (that didn't work) with the stock one. Did you think I replaced the stock on with the Sony?

We power the radio and power port on the dash from theliving area battery and install a sealed switch to kill the batteries qhen in storage.  This way no matter what drains you ha v e, when you k eave r he coach, there is no problem.

New radios are so cheap with so many cool features (sorry, no CB ).

Heck, we're not even doing CD's anymore!
