Hi guys
I remember seeing instructions about bending lower part of the door, but I can't find them now
Does anybody have such a link I can see and use?
My door has about 1/2 inch space at bottom but nice and tight at top..the hinges don't appear to be worn...thanks Ron

The door is not the problem, nor is bending it the solution. The problem is your coach body has reformed due to the weight of the roof a/c and the doorway being the weakest part of the body. You can confirm this by looking at the cabinet next to the door. The curve of the cabinet to fit close to the wall does not parallel the side of the coach.

There is a fix and you'll have to wait for gene to read and reply. He and others know the links to more info. You basically need to remove the kitchen window so you can use a come along to pull the sides together then attach a steel plate to the back side of the door latch screws and then screw and glue the rest of this plate to the wood cabinet. I successfully did this on my 76 and need to do it on my 74. If your kitchen window opens, you don't need to remove it.

Do not bend your door for a quick fix. It won't bend where you want it to and is not the right fix. Good luck.

Do a search for "middle age spread".
There are a couple ways to fix it.
It ain't easy.

Ron, not all coaches with poor fitting doors have middle age spread. Even when new, GM had a procedure for bending doors to fit. My coach has no sign of middle age spread but the door doesn't fit quite right at the top. I would look at the various procedures for refitting the door even if you have middle age spread.

Be careful trying to bend the door I know some have done it but it didn't work for me .first time the wood split the second try the aluminum in the hinge area started to distort. What worked for me was to elongate the holes in the aluminum door that mounts up with the hinge . I was able to pull in the top of the door where it was sticking out.

That sounds like what I need to try.

That is what I did on The Pig. If the door is out of plane to the body within the span of the hinges it cannot be bent to fit.

Allow me to expand my earlier statement for clarification. If the door is
out of plane with the body on the hinge side within the span of the hinges
it cannot be corrected by bending.
