Hello GMC, would it be great?
What would you say to a new GMC MH? What would be your must haves?

GN stopped making refrigerators, big trucks, medium sized trucks, locomotives, and motorhomes. I don't see any of those ever coming back (well maybe medium duty trucks)

The wife wants one, one of the originals. I even told her they are plywood and sticks. She doesn't care. She wants one. Actually should say "wanted" one. She hadn't seen a GMCMH before, now that we have one she is okay...... has that old used car that sat for 12 years smell, not dirty, not musty, just kind of smells like dust to me... guess it is comforting for her.
She likes the old stuff, her first car was a Chevette with rotten floorboards and she wants one of those, or a Subaru Brat.
See what I have to deal with....... lol.
Wouldn't trade her for the world though.

My wife is the same way. She drives 1991 Saturn that we bought new. It rattles, squeeks, clunks, the headliner is held on with staples, the sunroof is glued in with 5200. It looks good from 50 feet, no body rust
I'm in the garage stinking up the place, painting, welding, whatever I come into the house and it stinks to high heaven...Mmm she says.. smells good!
she's crazy...

Your wife and my wife would be kindred spirits.
Way back in the day I changed oil at the Trail Rd Texaco, I would come home smelling to high heaven of overused oil....... she loved to sniff my neck.
May be a good cologne for some guys. I am really lucky to have her though, I am ADHD, OCD, and another thing, she puts up with it. We have a lot of fun together though, we make each other better people.
No body rust on a 91 Saturn....... that can't be normal........ LOL.
Gotta love plastic!!

We had a 71 Winnebago Chieftain before the GMC. It was basically a high end brave. It sure wasn't built like the GMC I was always afraid if I got in a wreck it would dicentagrate . My wife had me build her a 1932 ford street rod in the late 70's it was her only car for 35 years she loved that car . I bought her a newer car a few years ago because she had trouble steering it with no power steering I was going to put a power rack in but I sold it instead. I'm still getting flack from that mistake. Just because she said it was ok to sell it didn't really mean it was ok.

I see no redeeming qualities except it looks like the box a GMC came in.

My post was more a reference to the mind of my wife which is constantly changing......
If she is home after I get home from somewhere...... I lick my finger and stick it into the wind to see what kind of mood she may be in, or what her attitude may possibly be...... constantly changing......
She said it, but was kidding mostly. She loves the archaic GMC we have, she doesn't REALLY want a new Winnie, she just wants me to make the GMC "new" this winter.....

Live and learn Roy,...... or just live and listen after the fact......
Did the same thing with an 87 Honda Prelude 2.0Si we had, 316,000 miles on the clock when I sold it. Ran like a sewing machine but wanted to make room for something new....
I still hear about it today..... (34-35mpg)

This Shasta trailer is really well done. I wish he’d have taken it for a drag with that big old Caddy...

Hey, I just got a new cabinet guy, we're ready to build bodies for those!
If they are anything like the originals don't worry-- it will fall apart
soon and you an get something else.
I will say the Cabana we worked with that sported a Dodge bread truck
chassis was cute--- but driving it from Orlando to LA cured---"cute". You
could not ride behind the entry door, would throw you out of the bed! You
felt like you were riding a log downhill from the front-- took 4 days to
get to LA with 3 people taking shifts--- then it took 2 days with 2 guys
sharing the drive to get back to Orlando with Rick F. GMC. Jim G. was with
me on that who will give the cruel story.
OK, I get retro but you really need to stay with something better than a
toaster box! Or just park it and look at the thing but don't tryand drive
it over the road!
I agree with retro, it is here to stay and it's what has given the GMC it's
late press. We are the keepers of the ultimate cool ride of the 70's and
everyone knows that. Manufacturers would love to have a new GMC on their
floor but it would simply be too expensive to follow that dream to try and
put it back into production. This is why I say we have what they want and
isn't it better money to just take an original GMC and put it back to
better than new condition? That's the focus on what we are trying to do at
the Co-op--- and BTW, it's working. Most of my customers ARE that next
generation wanting "retro" in their lives. There is a growing number of
people who say they too just can't be seen in a toaster box.

well you DID say she was a woman....kinda goes with the terretory
As far as a GMC reissue or even current value, I don't give a .. hoot...
I have mine, mine goes, mine looks decent. I don't see owning anything else until I can't drive it anymore.
See you all at the Rally!
