Posted too quick. If there is interest, I'll make up some of these and bring them to Wisconsin. 5 bucks each.

That is smart!! And a great idea.
How far is the added handle protruding, want to see if it will clear my screen door when the door is closed.
Thanks, Jared
Edit, it is my 7 year old daughter that has the hard time opening the door, think this would be great for her. Wife doesn't wear nail polish so no issues there. LOL.

Had to go measure it. It protrudes an inch more than the original handle.. You could put a washer behind the original handle to pull it in in 1/16th increments but you'll soon run out of finger room to get to the handle.
Btw, I just tested it with a drink in my hand. I can open the door with one finger.

On my way to measure screen door clearance, will post when I get back.

It is right at 1" from my screen door slider (middle slider) to the handle.

Since I don't have a screen door, I can't know if it will fit or not. I'll a few to Wisconsin and someone there will have a screen we can test on.
I don't easily have a way to bend 1/8 aluminum but I happen to have some material that is already bent in a step that I can cut and shape. That is why they are so cheap. If I had to make two bends in each one, it would cost more. Also, I need to think about if making it more shallow would be feasible. That is, if there is enough room to get your fingers behind it without having to be too careful.

If it fits I will certainly want one, whatever reasonable price you set plus shipping to WA.
I love seeing stuff such as this. The door latch on the inside is a good hard sturdy part as it should be.
It would be nice if it were slightly easier to open though.
My 7 year old has fingers like toothpicks (for lack of a better reference).
Great idea Kerry,

Tell you what Jared, PM me your address and I'll send you one. If it works, you can pay me the $5 plus shipping, if not, you can give it as a doorprise to someone without a screen door at the next rally you attend.

BTW Jared, you can hold it in position with duct tape to verify the screen door thing so you won't have to drill an unnecessary hole in your handle.
