All said and done...... that thing is damn funky!!
I can't begin to imagine the glass work that went into modifications like that.
He liked Cadillacs, blowing up the photo you can see the obvious Cadillac styling, and yes it is a Cadillac bumper but that is not the giveaway.

We use the phrase "Fugly" on the mainland as well, it certainly does fit.
Wonder how long it has been sitting, parts have been robbed but those Alcoas are still shiny new.

At first I thought he had wanted to raise the roof but that would destroy the structure
because of all the aluminum extrusions that make up the body. The thing on the roof must be
some type if 'Pod' that covers the AC unit, vents, etc.
Different strokes for different folks.

I must be smoking it too, I like the front end.
I would have tried to soften or eliminate the horizontal crease under the hood doors, and the headlight choice is not a functional improvement, but it has some potential.
Find a headlight cluster with projector lenses that have the same general contour, and get the bumper chromed or painted, and I think it could be attractive.
The pods on the roof, however, don't measure up to the front end effort. If ever there was a case to be made for fins...He obviously had plenty of fiberglass...

Lose the bumper and fill that wide mouth grille with horizontal bars.

Mebbe so on the headlights, but I'd bet they'd do a better job of lighting up the road!

That bumper combined with those headlights makes it look like a wild boar or jungle pig...
Keith is right, that bumper needs round headlights, just like the car it came from.
The clearance lights are cool though, just like engine nacelles on a turboprop!

Nah,
I reckon it needs some 30 inch rims with spinners, REALLY low profile tires, massive air tank and solenoids so you can SLAM it down
to the ground or POP it sky high! :>)

Hey man--- that's "custom". Someone liked enough to try it, you would be
shocked at some of the stuff we've done! That's the way custom is, that's
also why engineers work hard at creating a shape more will like
esthetically. After doing so much of this--- the labor cost on stuff like
that is huge--- I find the original design is just timeless and is part of
the reason we are still talking about it today. Square headlights were a
big mod, now with the Euro style landing lights you can buy in a 7"
configuration-- look at the new cars, they have round headlights or those
projector type -- again round--- lights. Square is out, round is back with
a twist. We did LED surrounds and a 7" HID headlight--- 7" round. Hey and
all that fit into the same original bezel, an original black/silver grill
and original black/silver headlight baskets is a tough combination to
beat! It's a good look and if you had never seen a GMC, the original
everything on the body would attract folks-- he, it did us!
Yea, say that front end did get finished, the rechrome onto that Buick
bumper will be expensive but that's just an estimate. Would think about
painting it making it part of the body--you want weird, close your eyes and
visualize THAT!
Hey but remember it's custom. maybe only the guy driving likes it-- that's
fine but Istill would not want to dress up MY baby that funny...
