I once enlisted the help of my bride to steady a 2.4l engine as I raised it up via a floor jack and into the engine bay on a Porsche 911. Decked her all out in white overalls with the legs and arms rolled up and told her all she needed to do was keep that expensive hunk of metal from falling off the jack. She did, but not willingly. Lots of whoops and hollers later the engine was in the hole and she was shaking from head to foot muttering something like "....don't ever do that to me again....". I didn't.
In the many engine trips in and out of the Royale before we finally got a good one she just stood by gamely muttering something about the grease and oil falling on her carpets......That is as close as she cares to come to black grimy stuff these days.

I may ask a (male dextrous) cousin to help with things mechanical, but NEVER the mate. In that direction lies Domestic Discord, which I can generate
in a less greasy way if I wanted to. Lacking a pit, if I extract an engine here, it has to come out the top pretty much no matter out of what. When
comes time to re-do my engine, I'll decide whether to yank it or hire it done. It looks to be a minimum two - mechanic exercise to get it out of the
coach.
