Johnny Bridges mentioned his trip to Weikiwa Springs State Park, (Just North of Orlando) in support of his dog show duties. Marilyn and I are going to join him for a little impromptu no host rally, means nothing planned but relaxation.
www.floridastateparks.org/wekiwasprings for further information on the park.
We will arrive on Dec 8 and depart on Dac 12. Johnny will be there Monday to Monday.
Price of park is very reasonable, especially for Florida residents. Make reservations now, because the park may fill up with Winter Floridians. Please P.M. either me or Johnny if you intend to go. We will host at least one BBQ and Adult Beverages for the informal group. Come for a few days or the whole week. This is not a club sponsored event.

Tom,

Ada will make our reservation on the road home in the morning. We'll
do 8DEC-11DEC (have the Sunshine Statesmen Christmas rally) starting for
Ada and I on 11DEC. Home for us is only 8 or 10 miles from the state park.
Are you going to make the Dixielander Rally in Oct? Hope to see you there too.

I've not found a KOA which comes close. Huge lots, and it's a pretty area. I kind of fell into it because I was looking for a place to park for the AKC championships. Due to labor costs in the area (thenaks, Mouse) the Orange County Convention Center gats right at 600 dollars for a 15 foot wide by 40 foot long site for the show - with electricity and 'we hope to have a water truck makes rounds once or twice during the week'. For $24, the State park has water and electricity, and I believe they now have plumbed the sites for sewer. There's a dump station about a hundred yards from the site anyhow. And Galbavy as a Florida senior resident gets it for half price. Yall come.

You know you guys will be close enough to make a day trip over to the
shop. Sort of a field trip for the class. Don't know if Janie & I can
camp there but maybe. If you do wanna do this getting a reservation now is
key. This place fills up during the winter and being so popular and nice
that park is packed in Dec. hey, there's always free parking at the Co-op
though...

Elise and I can't make it, but thanks for the invitation. We are already over-committed for December and won't be near Florida. Sorry.

Jim B -
I expect a run by the co-op is in order at some point. Free parking is attractive when the puppy isn't along. When he is, it ain't really practical though. Along with Tom's peanuts, I offer some more of the cough medicine I passed to you in Dothan Smile You can chase it with the Coke is you must, but mixing it outside the stomach is an abomination before the gods of good whiskey.

Update -

I will have young Sam the BWD with me, but will not be showing him. So, I'm going to be free all week, with commitments on Saturday and Sunday. I have to run over to Tampa one afternoon or evening, but I can pick which one.
Arrive 8DEC, leave 15DEC, let's par-tay. At some point, I wanna stuff a FireFight thing in the engine compartment against the day I manage to get it lit.

Well, I'm driving down the 8th leave here crack o dawn to skip traffic around the City, prolly get there in the afternoon barring problems. I'll have one toad or the other with me, easy enough to drive into Orlando. And Sam can hang in the coach rather than being a problem around the Co-op or <god forbid> getting greasy. Be pleased to help where I can. Let's figure one evening to barbecue some chickens and have a Gathering out at the State Park. What evening suits? Friday is a problem for me, I have to go set up Meet The Breed booth Friday afternoon, and I dunno how long it will take. Sat and Sunday I don't get loose till about 4P, and Sunday I have to strike the display. Which leaves Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to cook some dinner and sit around swilling Adult Beverages and telling lies. What suits the rest of you?
Jim?
Jim?
Tom?
anyone else?

Our 1975 Palm Beach will be in Washington State, but we will be spending the winter in Mount Dora, Florida. Very close to the campgrounds, so will probably stop in for a visit and scope out the GMC's.

FEr sure. It's beginning to look like the 10th would do for a daytrip to the Co-op and an afternoon/evening of beverages and barbecue. Or we can harass Bounds another day and just chill the 10th. Yall work it out and post the results Smile

Just a reminder to the group. Those of you who are wintering in Florida are welcome to come on by. You can see my half-finished headliner project and provide sage advice on the finishing of it.
